Bayern Munich’s target could join Liverpool

Liverpool could be the next destination for the German forward who is also linked with Bayern Munich. English Premier League giants and current runners-up Liverpool could be the next destination for  German forward Timo Werner, according to Red Bull Leipzig’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff. The RB Leipzig forward’s contract with the club expires in 2020 and it is expected that the club would sell him this summer. Bayern Munich have long been interested in the German forward and are predicted to be his next destination.
However, Mintzlaff has now revealed that his next destination might even be Liverpool. He said, ‘We haven’t spoken to Timo Werner about Bayern Munich, but what the player wanted to do was important for us. Last year we certainly didn’t play football like we did in the season before.” the CEO told Sky Sports. “We have submitted an offer and we know that Timo would not extend – but that can still change. Maybe he doesn’t want to go to Munich. Maybe he wants to go to  Tuchel in Paris or, I have no idea, maybe to Jurgen Klopp [at Liverpool] or Lucien Favre [at Dortmund].” Ever since joining RB Leipzig from VfB Stuttgart, Werner have been a consistent deliver. He has so far made 112 appearances for the Red Bulls and has scored 61 goals. The attacker is only 23 and has several years left in his prime career. It is the right time for Werner to take the next big step after delivering consistently for the Red Bulls over the years. But could it be Liverpool and not Bayern Munich?
